About Emporda Golf Course, Girona

Emporda Golf was designed by Robert Von Hagge, one of the worlds top golf course architects, whom crafted two courses which sit perfectly amidst the natural beauty of the Emporda region. Regularly chosen in the top 10 courses in Spain, the two very distinct 18 hole courses offer a marked contrast of styles with one being a Scottish links style course and the other an idyllic walk through the pine forest.

As the name suggests, the Links course is designed on traditional Scottish lines with fairways winding between sand dunes and water hazards. Water comes into play on 12 of the holes with the 4th green and the 9th being virtually surrounded by water being just two of the highlights of what is a very interesting golf course. The Forest course is a typical Mediterranean ‘parkland’ course winding through pine trees with carefully placed lakes and is a real treat to play. There is not as much water in play here but what there is extremely well positioned to catch a wayward approach shot or careless drive. It is possible to play 9 holes on each of the courses to provide a unique experience of links and parkland golf in the same round.

The resort regularly features in any list of Spain’s best golf courses and you can play 9 holes on the Forest and 9 holes on the Links to get a proper feel for what the resort has to offer.

The resort has very good practice facilities with a driving range, practice bunkers and short game area and has regularly hosted professional tournaments. For those who enjoy having 2 excellent golf courses on the door step there is a 4 star Double Tree By Hilton hotel on site.

Girona is only about 20 minutes from the resort and Barcelona is just over an hour away.
