Best Golf Courses in Marrakech

Golf Samanah

Golf Samanah is the only course in Morocco designed by the legendary Jack Nicklaus. The 18-hole, par 72 course is built on nearly 100 hectares and challenges players to think tactically. The quality of its design, made up of rolling greens and strategic bunkers, draws in a large number of amateurs and professionals every year.

Royal Golf Marrakech

Inaugurated in 1927, the Royal Golf Marrakech Old Course is the second oldest golf course in Morocco. With less emphasis on water hazards and more emphasis on strategically placed bunkers, the course adopts more of an English feel compared with newer courses such as Golf Amelkis

The New Course, designed by Gert Watine and Thierry Sprecher, integrates seamlessly with the Old Course while providing a more technical experience for players. Play here for the challenge of navigating water hazards and undulating terrain.

Fairmont Royal Palm Golf & Country Club

The Fairmont Marrakech Golf & Country Club Course is characterised by palm trees, fragrant bougainvillea and the surrounding Atlas Mountains. The par-72, 18-hole course, designed by American architect, Cabell B. Robinson, challenges its players with distinctive water features and punitive bunkers. After your round, why not visit the prestigious clubhouse or enjoy an al fresco dining experience at Le Sabra.

The souks are traditional markets right in the heart of Marrakech which has an incredible array of shops and stalls selling local crafts, spices and leather goods. You can access right off Jemaa el-Fna Square and you’ll instantly feel the buzz that surrounds the stalls. You can also ditch your luxury hotel for the night and try an overnight stay in a Riad – a traditional Moroccan house within the Medina (Old City). These are often very traditional in furnishings complete with small courtyards that capture sunlight. Finally, experience the real food of Morocco at Djemaa-El-Fnaa food market.

Where can we go for nightlife?

Local etiquette and law dictates that alcohol should not be consumed within the Medina if it’s within sight of a mosque so if you are looking for a boozy golf holiday with bar crawls then this isn’t the destination for you. However there are some cool bars and nightclubs that are slightly further afield from the Medina which will keep you entertained into the night.
