Through the Lake District there are numerous golf courses that are worth playing and as you head South you come to the region that is known as England’s Golf Coast.
Around Liverpool and Southport there are some of the greatest golf courses in Europe with several Open Championship venues that should be on everyone’s bucket list. Heading them would be Royal Birkdale with Royal Lytham St. Annes and Royal Liverpool close behind. However, although these are the marquis courses there are many others that are definitely worth a visit such as Hillside, Formby and West Lancs.
