Bom Sucesso Golf Course

If there was an award for the most improved course then Bom Sucesso Golf would be in the running for the top prize. The course is spread out and although there are houses around some parts of the course they don’t intrude as the architect had plenty of land to work with. It is a par 72 course that from the back tees is 6800 yards in length and is basically parkland in style. There are 3 different men’s tees to play from so whatever your ability you can find a way to enjoy the course.

The front nine provides excellent views of the surrounding area overlooking the Obidos lagoon and giving occasional views of the sea. The back nine has more eucalyptus trees to avoid and is more undulating.

The seventeenth hole is one of the highlights. The elevated tee gives you a great view of the surrounding countryside and the drive to this dog leg par five looks very inviting. If you have hit the fairway then you are faced with the ultimate in risk and reward shots. Do you gamble, cut the corner and go for the green in two or play conservatively and avoid the large greenside bunker with your third shot? Its a really testing hole especially coming so near to the end of the round and a par here is one you wont forget.

The eighteenth is a good finishing hole again played from an elevated tee and it also has a slight dog left. It is a narrow target to hit from the tee and a ditch runs across the fairway to intimidate the longer hitters. The green is large and relatively flat but again finish with a par here and the after-round beer will taste so much better.

Onsite there is a sixteen-bay driving range and practice area with pitching, putting and chipping greens.
