About Golf du Chateau de la Bawette

Situated in the Walloon Brabant district just a few miles South East from Brussels and Waterloo, Golf du Chateau de la Bawette it is easily accessible down the E411 and takes about twenty minutes. The golf course is spread over 65 Hectares of parkland comprising lakes, hills and woods.

The course was designed by Tom McAuley and opened in 1986. It was then modified between 2009 and 2012 and the addition of new forward tees made the course more playable for golfers of all standards. It’s a par 72 stretching to 6600 yards from the back tees and features undulating fairways some that wind between well established trees and others with a more open aspect. The greens are fairly small and are well protected by some astute bunkering. To further challenge the golfer on the back nine there are more hazards in the shape of small ponds. The course is very similar to an English parkland course and is usually in very good condition.

In addition to the excellent eighteen holes course which is called le Parc, there is a very good nine hole layout called Les Champs that is excellent for either practicing or for golfers who are requiring an easier challenge. This course is on land that is much flatter than the main course and was also designed by Tom McAuley. Amongst the other practice facilities there is a driving range , short game area and putting green.

The original clubhouse was part of the castle but now occupies a modern building and in there you will find a very good restaurant and a bar that is well stocked with local Belgian beers. There is a great terrace to sit and ponder your round with one of the beers and look out onto the course and reflect on what will have been a pleasurable golfing experience.
