Islantilla Golf Course, Huelva

The Islantilla Golf Resort features a 27-hole golf course. Islantilla Golf opened in 1992 and has become one of the most well-known golf courses in Andalusia and is a firm favourite for those looking for a golf holiday in Costa de la Luz. It is the only course in the area to have held an official European Tour event when it staged the Tour Espana Masters and it has hosted various other professional events. The course opened in 1992 and has regularly featured in the lists of Europe’s Top 100 courses.

The make-up of the 27 holes offers 3 different layouts to play on. Each loop of nine holes has a series of different tees so that you can choose how easy or how difficult you want to make the challenge. Each nine holes are named after a colour and you can mix and match them to provide a different experience every time you play. There is variety as some holes are surrounded by pine trees demanding accuracy whilst others are played from elevated tees over more open land but beware for here there are water features ready to catch the wayward shot.

The land is gently sloping and the holes have been designed to make the most of the topography from some of the elevated tees, you get great views of the Atlantic Ocean. Usually, it’s in good condition with the greens requiring maximum attention as they are not as straightforward as they look.

There is a covered driving range and short game practice area with bunkers, chipping and putting greens to hone your skills.

On site the is an excellent 4-star Hotel with extremely good facilities and as it is only 50 yards away from the Clubhouse it is the ideal spot for a golfing vacation. The beach is a short drive away and locally there is a small commercial centre.
