About Alenda Golf Course, Costa Blanca

Alenda Golf is one of the nicest courses in the Costa Blanca. Its unusual in that it consists of two very distinct nine holes which were designed by Roland Favrat and opened in 1999. It’s a par 72 that from the back tees is nearly 7000 yards long.

It fits naturally into the landscape winding its way along two valleys with views of the nearby Sierra de las Aguilas mountain range. The front nine is parkland in style with wide generous fairways flanked by carob, pine and palm trees. It lulls you into a false sense of security as if playing well you may think it is an easy course where you can open your shoulders and let rip with a driver on most holes. You will soon change your mind as by contrast the back nine is much tighter and more challenging with some very good par 3’s. The 18th is a standout hole dog leg left. There is a lake on the left which the brave can try to carry over it to get the shortest shot into the green or if you have a good score going then you can take the safer route up the right hand side of the fairway and play it as a three shot hole.

It’s a very good holiday course as it gives you a relatively easy start and builds up into a very good challenge as the round progresses. It is easily walkable as there are not long walks from the greens to the tees but there are some undulations especially on the front nine so our recommendation would be to take a buggy.

There is a very modern clubhouse serving excellent Tapas and there is a large terrace to sit down and discuss your play after the round whilst sipping a cool cervezza.
