About Kenzi Menara Palace And Resort, Marrakech
The Kenzi Menari Palace And Resort is a luxurious five-star hotel conveniently situated about 10 minutes from the centre of Marrakech but set in ten acres of gardens that provide an oasis of calm. It’s a modern Hotel that is designed to blend into the landscape by using traditional materials and a colour scheme that reflects the ancient traditions and culture of the region.
The Terrace restaurant is a dining experience you won’t forget. With a great view of the Atlas Mountains, the gardens and the large pool and the Sun shining down it’s the ideal spot to enjoy traditional Moroccan dishes or food from around the world. The true Moroccan feel is in the Saoussane restaurant where you feel as though you are in someone’s living room as you taste the finest local ingredients blended into traditional Moroccan dishes. The Cinecitta restaurant serves Italian food with a contemporary twist and for relaxing after dinner the Oriental Bar has an extensive range of fine wines, spirits and cocktails on offer.
Another place to relax is in the luxurious spa where there are a variety of treatments available to pamper both the body and the mind. For those with excess energy to burn away from the fairways there is a fitness centre and tennis, badminton and volleyball courts.
There are several golf courses within close distance of the hotel so you need never play the same course twice in a week. One of the newest courses in the area Assoufid Golf Club has already established itself as not only one of the top courses in Morocco but was voted Africa’s Best Golf Course in 2018. Designed by Niall Cameron it opened in 2014 and has gradually matured to provide an interesting and challenging test of golf. It is a desert-style course that follows the undulating contours of the land and if you miss the fairways you can expect to land in a waste area. There are stunning views of the Atlas Mountains and it’s a must-play course if you are in this area.
The Samanah Golf Club was the first course that Jack Nicklaus designed in Morocco. Typically, it has wide fairways and large greens and not much rough, so the emphasis is on the quality of your approach shots to achieve a good score. There are several different tees you can play from so whatever your ability you will be able to enjoy a round here but if you want to play from the Championship tees it stretches to over 7300 yards. It’s a fairly flat golf course with large shallow bunkers to catch the wayward shot.
In contrast, the Fairmont Royal Palm Golf Club puts more of a premium on driving accuracy and is one of the many good golf courses that Cabell B. Robinson has designed. He has taken what was a fairly flat and boring piece of land and with clever landscaping has produced a course that perfectly fits into the surrounding countryside. The Atlas Mountains provide a backdrop to the course which has been planted with many different types of shrubs and flowers and several water hazards have been integrated into the design.
The Noria Golf Club is only ten minutes away from the centre of Marrakech and was designed by Steve Forrest. It offers three different types of landscape to play on over the 18 holes. Firstly, the fairways wind through orchards and lavender fields before the middle holes are more desert in style and finally, you finish in an oasis with the 18th hole being one you will remember for some time. There are numerous interesting traditional Moroccan features such as bell towers and a magnificent clubhouse.
