Morocco has invested in golf tourism in a major way over the last few years and whilst the four-star Be Live Experience Marrakech Palmeraie doesn’t have its course it is in an ideal location for the golfer looking for quality accommodation with several golf courses nearby. It’s also conveniently situated in a residential area that is only 20 minutes away from the bustling centre of Marrakech so you can enjoy the calmness of its location and also experience the true unique atmosphere of the centre of town.
Whilst Marrakech is well worth visiting there is no need to leave the Hotel for your meals and drinks as one of the main benefits of staying at the Be Live Experience is that they offer an all-inclusive package. The two restaurants on site serve both local and international cuisine to a very high standard and in the high season, there is entertainment provided in the evening.
The Hotel is a low-rise building with most of the rooms overlooking the large outdoor swimming pools. The rooms have been decorated in a bright modern style and there are several different types of rooms available, but all have the features you would expect from a modern four-star hotel.
To keep you in shape there is a complete fitness centre with cardio machines and a number of different classes are available to hone the mind and the body. Various other sporting activities are also available and there are several golf courses within a reasonable travelling distance from the Hotel.

As well as being a challenge, offers some fantastic views of the Atlas mountains and the architect has skilfully blended it into the natural landscape. In addition to the usual hazards on a course, there are also a number of sculptures on and around it that can distract the serious golfer but are an interesting feature. Although long from the back tees it can be played from a variety of teeing grounds to suit golfers of all abilities.
The first impression of Noria Golf is that you are in for a treat as you will notice the interestingly designed clubhouse with its Bedouin tent-like roof and the rest of the par 72 7200 yard course doesn’t disappoint. It is an interesting layout with several features that you won’t probably find anywhere else. The use of a large reflecting pool dividing the 9th and 18th fairways provides a dramatic finish to the round and the way that a variety of local flora has been used throughout the course keeps the golfer’s attention right to the end.
Having opened in 2009, the Samanah Golf Club is a Jack Nicklaus designed course which is typical of the many courses he has been involved with. Relatively flat with wide fairways that are flanked by waste areas and with bunkers that are not as punitive as at many other courses and water hazards in strategic points it’s a very good resort-style course. It’s a long course from the Championship tees but there are five different teeing areas to make the course suitable for golfers of all abilities.
The par 72 Assoufid Golf Club which was crafted by the European Team Design is relatively new but sits so naturally in the landscape that it looks as though it’s been there for years. It’s one of the best courses in the area with reasonably wide fairways winding through a mixture of palm and olive trees and greens that are often regarded as some of the best in the area. If you miss the fairway and you avoid the local vegetation you can find yourself in a waste area where it’s advisable to take your medicine and not be too brave.
