About
About
Set within 650 acres of beautiful Welsh countryside, just 15 minutes from Cardiff, the Vale Resort is one of Wales' top golf destinations.
With two championship golf courses, luxurious accommodation, and exceptional leisure facilities, this resort offers an immersive escape for your next golf holiday in Wales.
Golf courses
The Vale Resort stands out for offering not one but two championship golf courses, each with its own distinct character and challenges.
The Lakes Course, designed by Peter Johnson, stretches to over 7,400 yards and plays to a par of 72. As the name suggests, water is a key feature throughout, coming into play on no fewer than 12 holes. Set in gently rolling parkland, the course requires strategic thinking, especially on the closing holes, where water hazards protect slick, multi-tiered greens.
The National Course offers a contrasting experience, playing to 7,433 yards and par 73. Laid out through mature woodland and undulating terrain, it presents a more natural, links-inspired challenge. With tighter fairways, dramatic elevation changes, and deep bunkering, it rewards accuracy and imagination.
Accommodation
Guests can relax in one of 143 spacious, air-conditioned rooms that blend contemporary style with the comfort of a countryside retreat. Many rooms offer views across the golf courses or surrounding landscapes, creating a sense of peace and seclusion.
Each room features plush beds, modern en-suites, flat-screen TVs, and complimentary Wi-Fi, with upgraded rooms offering added luxuries such as lounge areas, spa baths, and private balconies.
Facilities
Vale Resort is renowned not only for its golf but for its superb leisure and wellness offering. The on-site spa is one of the largest in Wales, offering 19 treatment rooms, a 20-metre swimming pool, sauna, steam room, whirlpool bath, and a full menu of Elemis therapies and beauty treatments.
For food, the Vale Grill offers fine Welsh produce in an elegant setting, while the more relaxed Vale Bar & Kitchen serves casual meals and drinks throughout the day.
The resort also features tennis courts, squash courts, and a high-spec gym for those looking to stay active beyond the course.
Other things to do
Beyond the resort, there’s plenty to discover in the surrounding area. Cardiff city centre is a short drive away, offering excellent shopping, dining, and cultural attractions including Cardiff Castle, Principality Stadium, and the waterfront Cardiff Bay.
