About Prince's Golf Club
About
Located along the windswept shores of Sandwich Bay in Kent, Prince's Golf Club is a world-renowned championship venue steeped in history and tradition.
Once host to The Open Championship in 1932, the club offers a pure links golf experience paired with elegant on-site accommodation and coastal charm. Set beside Royal St George’s and near Royal Cinque Ports, Prince’s forms part of a legendary trio of links courses, making it a must-visit for your next golf holiday in South England.
Golf Course
The Prince's Golf Course is made up of three nine-hole loops – Himalayas, Shore, and Dunes – that combine to form multiple 18-hole layouts across this historic championship links. Together they span over 7,300 yards (championship length) and play to a par of 72 depending on the configuration.
Each loop offers its own distinct flavour:
- Himalayas features raised tees, rolling fairways, and commanding dune views.
- Shore hugs the coastline, exposing players to sea breezes and stunning panoramas.
- Dunes provides tighter fairways, pot bunkers, and strategic shot-making.
The course is a classic links challenge with firm, fast-running fairways, penal rough, and deep riveted bunkers. Wind is a constant factor, adding to the strategic demands and authenticity of this coastal gem. Modern renovation work has elevated the course while preserving its historical integrity, offering a true Open Championship-calibre experience.
