The four-star Pestana Viking Hotel sits on the cliff top overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the Senhora da Rocha Beach. It is an idyllic location but is only 500 metres from the town centre where you will find numerous bars and restaurants.

Within this package, you can choose to play several Pestana golf courses including Gramacho Golf. This 6600-yard par 72 course opened in 1991 and is one of the more unusual courses in the Algarve in that it has 27 greens that can be played from different teeing areas. It has hosted the Portuguese Ladies’ championship as well as other professional tournaments.
Vale da Pinta golf course opened in 1992 and has a par of 71 and it stretches to over 6600 yards from the back tees. It has been used regularly by the European Seniors Tour as a tournament venue. It’s a picturesque course with the fairways protected by sand traps, water and a variety of different trees.
Although only around 6000 yards Silves provides a challenge for golfers of all abilities. Strategically placed bunkers and water hazards demand accuracy from the tee and the greens are also well protected. Scenically it’s set at the foot of the Monchique Mountain with palm and cork trees in abundance as well as citrus groves.
Alto Golf opened in 1997 and has a par of 72 from the 7000-yard back tees. It was the last course designed by Sir Henry Cotton and the signature hole is the 660-yard par 5 known as the Sir Henry Challenge. It’s a traditional design where strategy is probably more important than length off the tee.
The 27 holes at Vila Sol Golf Club provide probably the best test of golf in the Pestana group of golf courses. The Championship course opened in 1991 and at just over 7000 yards with a par of 72 it’s a true test of golfing ability. Set in 75 acres of typical Portuguese countryside there is an abundance of pine, almond and fig trees as well as lakes and streams to catch the wayward shot.
