About

Set within a spectacular 600-acre estate in the heart of County Meath, Killeen Castle sits at the gateway to Ireland’s Ancient East, just 30 minutes from Dublin Airport.

The estate is built around a magnificent castle, and the combination of rich history, ancient woodland, and manicured grounds makes for an atmosphere that is genuinely hard to match anywhere in Ireland.

Whether you're here purely for the golf or looking for a fuller Irish experience that takes in world-class heritage sites, great food and stunning countryside, Killeen Castle delivers on every level.

Dublin city centre is also within easy reach for those wanting to mix their golf break with a night out or a spot of sightseeing.

Golf Course

Killeen Castle is home to a world-class Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, widely regarded as one of Nicklaus's finest designs.

Opened in 2008 and set across 350 acres of natural woodland, the course can be played from 6,118 yards all the way back to 7,677 yards. This makes it a genuine championship test for low-handicap golfers while still being enjoyable for golfers of all abilities.

Killeen Castle’s golf course credentials speak for themselves. It hosted the 2011 Solheim Cup, the Ladies Irish Open, and the Irish Challenge 2025, 2026 and 2027.

Accommodation

The Lodges provide 26 beautifully appointed lodge rooms finished to a four-star standard, sitting right in the heart of the estate next to the ancient walled gardens.

Just a two- to three-minute walk from the clubhouse and practice facilities, they are purpose-built for the golf visitor.

Exclusive lodge hire is available for either a two- or four-room lodge, giving guests private use of all rooms and communal areas.

Each room is generously proportioned at 30 square metres, with underfloor heating, air conditioning and complimentary Wi-Fi throughout.

Facilities

Killeen Castle's state-of-the-art clubhouse sits at the centre of the golf experience.

Golfers are greeted with a personal meet-and-greet service and have access to high-specification locker rooms and showers, a well-stocked golf pro shop, club and shoe rental, and a full driving range, putting green, chipping green and practice bunker for warming up before a round.

For dining, Sixteen restaurant serves dishes built around fresh local produce in an elegant setting, while The Kiln lounge bar offers casual dining and a relaxed atmosphere for post-round drinks.

Ample complimentary car parking is available across the estate, along with EV charging points.

Other Things To Do

Beyond the fairways, Killeen Castle offers 6km of woodland walking trails through the ancient grounds of the 600-acre estate, which is a lovely way to unwind between rounds.

Killeen Castle’s location in the heart of Ireland's Ancient East means some of the country's most iconic heritage sites are just a short drive away.
