Situated near the Peak District National Park, the Delta Hotels by Marriott Breadsall Priory Country Club is a mix of two very good golf courses and high-quality accommodation. Close to the M1, it lies between the towns of Derby and Nottingham and is surrounded by some of the UK’s finest landscapes. It s actually Marriott’s oldest location in the world as parts of it date back to 1260.

Standing in over 400 acres of parkland near to the Peak District National Park the Resort has two eighteen-hole golf courses – The Priory and the Moorland. The Priory is the older of the two having been designed by David Cox and opened in 1977. By modern standards its relatively short at only 6120 yards off the back tees but his design where the holes wind through tight tree lined fairways requiring accurate driving and greens that are well guarded by bunkers puts a high premium on skill and accuracy. Donald Steel designed the newer Moorland course on the adjoining hillside is a par 70 course of a similar distance to the Moorland course.

For those wanting to sharpen their game then there is a driving range and practice chipping and putting greens.

As usual in Marriott properties the rooms are stylish, comfortable and well-appointed and have all the features you would expect from a luxury hotel.
