Our Favourite Golf Holiday Resorts

Our Favourite Golf Holiday Resorts Of 2013

Getting out there and playing the best golf holiday resorts is part of our job. Yes, it’s a tough life we know. In this blog post, Glen lists his favourite golf holiday resorts of the year:

1) Mar Menor Golf Resort, Murcia

We only launched the Mar Menor Golf Resort as one of our golf holiday resorts at the end of 2012 however it has quickly become our biggest selling golf complex and it’s not hard to see why. First of all, the resort offers amazing value. With 3 nights and 2 rounds from only £115 it’s not hard to convince our clients to give the resort a try. You may not have heard of Mar Menor Golf Resort but don’t let this put you off. Guests gain access to 6 Jack Nickluas designed courses, all of which are truly outstanding. All 6 courses are included in the price, so if you stay for a week you can play a different course each day!

Mar Menor Golf Resort is not only great for golf. The on-site facilities are top quality and with beer coming in at 3 euro a pint its great to see they do not take advantage of the captive audience. If a client calls and has no-idea where they would like to go, Mar Menor is the first place I suggest and, to this date, we have never heard a bad word said about the resort.

2) Dona Filipa & San Lorenzo, Algarve

Always popular with our clients, and one of our top selling golf holiday resorts, the 5* Dona Filipa & San Lorenzo resort offers great value, especially if you book early. The 5* hotel is a great place to rest your head, and the Praca on the sea front offers some great evening entertainment. Drinks and meals are expensive, you are in the heart of Vale Do Lobo after all, however this is soon forgotten after you stand on the tee box at San Lorenzo Golf Course. The course, exclusive to hotel guests is simply breathtaking and, in my opinion, is one of the best in Europe. The run of holes from 6 to 9 is truly amazing and will leave you wanting to play more and more. As you may expect tee times are very popular so you need to book early at Dona Filipa.

3) Le Manoir Hotel, Le Touquet

If I didn’t live in York and lived further down South I would be popping across the Channel every weekend. Again, Le Manoir Hotel is one of our biggest selling golf holiday resorts thanks to it’s great mix of accommodation and golf. The hotel itself will not blow you away, its perfectly comfortable and a great base, however you are really heading here for the golf. The two courses at Hardelot Golf are first class, and would be commanding Green Fees of £100 + if they were in the UK. The other 2 courses at Le Touquet Golf also offer a great test of golf and are well worth the visit alone. You can stay and play from only £95 . Trust me, you will not regret it!

4) La Cala Golf Resort, Costa Del Sol

A 4* resort with 3 great courses makes it no suprise to see La Cala in my list of great golf holiday resorts. The Asia, America and Europa courses are all varied and stretch across a huge mass of land. You certainly are brave if you decide to walk round here! Play each course and you will have the perfect golf holiday. A fabulous on-site spa gives you chance to relax after a busy day on the course.

5) The Belfry Golf Resort, UK

A big seller! The Belfry is great for groups thanks to it’s on-site night club. It can be hit and miss as you are relying on the hotel to be busy for the club to fill however you will certainly enjoy the golf. The Brabazon is worth the trip alone, will you or won’t you go for it on the 10th?

Do you agree with my list of great golf holiday resorts?
