The five-star Hotel Sofitel Agadir Royal Bay Resort is set alongside the beach and combines traditional Moroccan style with European Luxury. A private walkway leads to the long sandy beach. Its around fifteen minutes from the centre of Agadir and just over twenty minutes from Agadir Airport.
There are 273 rooms, suites and villas fully fitted out to maximise your enjoyment whilst still maintaining the feeling of being in a different culture stretching back hundreds of years.
The Sofitel prides itself on the quality of the gastronomy on offer at its four restaurants. As well as serving traditional Moroccan dishes there is an emphasis on Asian cuisine and international dishes from around the world. Once you have enjoyed the food then the La Nasse bar is a great place to relax and unwind or if you still have the energy you can enjoy the So Lounge where DJ’S play until the early hours.
There are three golf courses close to the Hotel all of them of sufficient quality to ensure that whatever standard of golfer you are you will have an enjoyable whilst challenging experience. The Golf le Dunes has three loops of nine holes designed by the famous American architect Cabell Robinson. Robinson is well known for designing some of the best new courses in the Costa Del Sol and here he has maintained that standard. As usual he has utilised the natural terrain and then added to it by the subtle use of bunkering and the addition of water hazards on four of the holes. The Academy at Golf les Dunes is regarded as one of the top teaching schools in Morocco and for those either wanting to learn or to improve their game it is the ideal location.
The Golf de Ocean Club is around fifteen minutes from Agadir centre and is built alongside the River Oued Souss and again has twenty-seven holes. Always in good condition it is probably the most difficult of the three local courses but is still very playable for all players.
Golf Du Soleil is the third course close by the hotel, but it is by no means the poor relation of the area. Indeed, with two eighteen-hole courses to choose from one of which regularly hosts professional tournaments it’s a must visit Resort. The two courses are very different in style one being quite naturalistic and the other more modern American in design.
