About Martin's Brugge, Bruges
Bruges is one of Europe’s most popular tourist destinations. Often referred to as ‘the Venice of the North’, the city is full of iconic places to visit and when you combine the excellent local food and beers that are on offer it’s a great location for a golfing break or weekend away. Its been classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and the canals, historic protected buildings and major historical sites are a must visit for even the most keen golfer. At night time the city comes alive with bars and restaurants catering to all tastes and pockets.
Martin’s Brugge is the leading three star hotel in the city centre. It is within walking distance of most of the places of interest that you will want to visit and only a short distance from some great golf courses. The exterior of the building is in character with the rest of the city but inside its what you would expect from a modern hotel.
The Royal Ostend Golf Club is about thirty minutes drive away and having been founded in 1903 is one of the oldest in the area. It’s a links style course with the course running alongside the sea for several holes. The elevated tees and greens make great viewing points and although the course is not long there is often a breeze coming in from the sea that adds to the protection of the golf course. The course was brought up to date in 2006 to keep it relevant to the demands of today’s modern equipment.
Damme Golf & Country Club is around 15 minutes drive away from the Martins Brugge hotel. There are three different courses here, an eighteen hole championship course and two nine hole courses. The Championship course is one of the most picturesque in the region and well worth a visit.
