Costa Blanca - Golf Courses


ALENDA
Opened in 1999 and set in countryside unspoilt by housing developments and surrounded by the Sierra de las Aguilas mountains this is an an entertaining test of golf.
ALICANTE
A Ballesteros designed course close to the city centre and near to the beach.Unusually for a Ballesteros designed course the fairways are fairly open but the water hazards and degree of difficulty increase as the round progresses.
BONALBA
Opened in 1995 this is a nice complex offering a good test of golf. Well laid out with several holes containing water hazards. There is a driving range and a clubhouse offering excellent facilities.
CAMPOAMOR
Opened in 1988 and characterised by wide and long fairways the challenge comes once on the greens and mastering the undulating fairways. Built in a former country estate the back nine is tighter than the front nine winding through steep sided hills.
EL PLANTIO
Opened in 2000 there is also a 9 hole par 3 course and driving range here. Accurate driving from the tee is essential to make a good score here and the greens are some of the best in the area.
LA FINCA
Opened in 2001 this Gancedo designed course has rapidly become a favourite . Wide fairways flanked by palm and pine trees and large greens protected by water make this a must play course.
LAS RAMBLAS
Opened in 1991 this is a tight and interesting course designed by renowned Spanish architect Pepe Gancedo with elevated tees, narrow fairways and slick greens. Situtated in beautiful hilly countryside with excellent views.
OLIVIA NOVA
A new Ballesteros designed layout with a 4 star hotel and apartments around the course. There is an excellent driving range and this looks like being one of the more popular resorts on the coast.
VILLAMARTIN
Scene of several professional events, this is one of the best known and is the oldest course in the area. Good fast greens and fairways meandering through the trees make it a good test of golf.
Almeria - Golf Courses
ALBORAN
This relatively flat golf course opened in 2005 and being so close to the Airport is ideal for getting in a game on the last day of the holiday . With nearly 70 bunkers and two large lakes it is one of the more challenging courses in the region . The Club also has some of the best practice facilities in the area.
ALMERIMAR
Designed by Gary Player this course is one of the oldest in the area having opened in 1976 . It can best be described as providing very good holiday golf with wide fairways and large greens . However with water coming into play on several holes and strategically placed bunkers and palm trees it still offers a challenge to golfers of all abilities. The island green on the 12th Hole is the signature hole on the course.
DESERT SPRINGS
This is the first “Arizona –desert style “ course built in Europe and as such offers a completely different challenge to one you will have encountered before .The fairways are wide but the greens are well guarded by bunkers and streams and although the most expensive course in the area it is well worth a visit .
lLA ENVIA
This is a hilly course set up in the hills above Roquetas . Most holes offer stunning mountain views and the clubhouse has been superbly located to overlook most of the golf course .This course offers a harder challenge then
PLAYA SERENA
Designed by Peter Allis and Angel Gallardo this is a very good course situated next to Roquetes de Mar . Water comes into play on 12 of the holes and the wide fairways of the opening holes gradually narrow the further round you go . The greens are smaller than at some of the other courses in the area and are very well protected .
VALLE DEL ESTE
Probably the best course in the area it opened in 2002 and is already established as a must play venue. Don’t let the absence of rough fool you as if you miss the fairway here you are amongst the desert shrubbery ! Although the fairways are quite wide accuracy is required on the second shot to hit the well guarded greens
